De liefde bracht Max Wagner (Hamburg, 1968) naar Hilversum. 20 jaar reizen door diverse continenten vormden en inspireerden hem. Elk werk dat ik maak is het begin van een reis. Ik dompel mezelf onder in een proces, waarin ik het beeld dat ik in gedachten heb tot uiting breng… terwijl het werk zich ontwikkelt, blijft de wereld met de seconde veranderen. Niets is vanzelfsprekend, niets is voor altijd. Die overgang vloeit dan ook vanzelf over in het werk zelf. Mijn artistieke proces is een diepgaand zoeken, met als doel een intuïtieve balans te creëren waarmee ik de blik achter het oppervlak en de contrasten van het leven kan overbrengen en uitdrukken. Het is een wisselwerking tussen het zichtbare en het onzichtbare, het onmiddellijke en het verre, en hun onderlinge gezamenlijke bestaan.

Love brought Max Wagner (Hamburg, 1968) to Hilversum. Twenty years of travelling across various continents have shaped and inspired him.Every piece of my work is a start of a journey. I immerse myself into a process, manifesting the image I hold in mind….as the work evolves the world continues to change by the second. Nothing is granted, nothing is forever. So this transition will automatically flow into the very work. My artistic process is a profound search aiming to create an intuitive balance allowing me to convey and express the look behind the surface and of life’s contrasts. It is an interplay between the seen and the unseen, the immediate and the distance and its co-existence.
